HANNAH LEES
Tablet LXIX is an artwork by Margate born artist Hannah Lees, created
in 2019. The piece is part of an ongoing series called “Tablets” that
incorporates beachcombed objects and natural pigments into plaster
forms. The stones, shells and small pieces of detritus are typically sourced
from riverbanks and various beaches around the world, often from the
artist’s hometown of Margate.
DAN BA SS
Born in 1971 and based in
Margate, Daniel Bass is a
contemporary artist whose
work explores the “handmade,” public interventions,
and the appropriation of
mainstream culture. He
describes his work as having a
“magpie approach,” influenced
by seaside fairground art and
sample-based music.

years of experience in signwriting
and gilding, Mia ‘The Margate
Signwriter’ creates bespoke
pieces for homes and businesses
and from shop signs to window
displays. She enjoys seeing the
designs come to life and the
therapeutic process of painting
and gilding.
Margate

Born in 1985, Laura is an artist and illustrator now living in
Margate. She works across a range of media from painting to
textiles; common themes being the use of a single illustrative
line and stripped back colour palette. There are eighteen
hand-painted murals by Laura with the paint in real life an
almost golden colour with light, dry brushstrokes creating a
shimmering eûect.
