The Royal Pavilion Grand Regency Ball
The former royal palace will also hold an immersive Ball which will have
you feeling like you’ve time-travelled back to the Regency era. The idea
is to re-create the glamour, elegance and social atmosphere of the
late Georgian/Regency period - with dancing, promenading, periodappropriate costume, music, dining, afternoon tea or tours. The full ball
and associated activities run from 6th to 8th February, with the
main ball taking place on Saturday 7th.
Theatre Royal Brighton
This Grade II listed building is one of the oldest theatres in the country
and continues to delight audiences. Highlights this season include
Blood Brothers in early February and Somerset Maugham’s comedy
The Constant Wife, starring Kara Tointon in late February prior to
transferring to the West End.
Brighton is a vibrant city all year round with
an eclectic calendar of live acts, exhibitions
and happenings...
Brighton Dome
One of the city’s premier entertainment venues, which hosts a
kaleidoscope of live events. Forthcoming acts include comedy from Al
Murray, Sue Perkins and Rob Beckett, classical concerts by the London
Philharmonic (14th February and 14th March) and in early 2026, music
by Franz Ferdinand and Scouting for Girls.
Royal Pavilion and Brighton Museum & Art Gallery
The Royal Pavilion is one of Brighton’s most iconic buildings (and
actually inspired some of the interior design choices at No. 124
Brighton!). Wandering through its ornate rooms is a great indoor
activity for a grey or chilly day. Plus, its proximity to Brighton
Museum & Art Gallery makes it easy to combine culture and history.
The Brighton Centre
Only a 5 minute walk from the hotel, The Brighton Centre hosts a mix
of blockbuster pop, heritage icons and arena tributes. This Winter sees
Bastille, The Last Dinner Party, Jools Holland, Madness, Riverdance, Peter
Kay and Jason Derulo all visiting.
Strolls in the South Downs and along the coast
Even in winter, the coast and nearby countryside can be beautiful, quiet
and atmospheric. Long walks along the coast or gentle hikes into the
surrounding hills are great for fresh air and a break from city bustle.
If you enjoy nature and being outdoors, bundled up against the wind,
these areas can feel very peaceful compared to busy summer months.
Brighton Toy & Model and
Fishing Museums
For something more offbeat:
the Brighton Toy and Model
Museum is full of history and
packed with fascinating vintage
toys, intricate models, and quirky
exhibits. Or head to the Brighton
Fishing Museum, a hidden gem
that offers a fascinating glimpse
into the city’s maritime past,
with displays celebrating seaside
heritage, local fishing traditions,
and old photographs.
